How to play

  1. Everyone starts with 1,000 chips. The game is 6 rounds. Each round is a made-up matchup between two river-town teams.
  2. Every matchup has a hidden true chance that the Home team wins. You get a private Scouting Read: close to the truth, but off by a few points. Everyone's read is different, and nobody else can see yours.
  3. The line is the market's price. "Home 40%" means a Home bet pays 100 ÷ 40 = 2.5× your stake if Home wins. Away is always 100 minus Home.
  4. You have 40 seconds. Place up to 3 bets per round, each 1–25% of your chips. Your price locks the moment you bet.
  5. Every bet moves the line toward the side you bet (up to 3 points). Off-screen sharp money also drifts the line toward the true chance as the clock runs.
  6. So it's a race: bet early for a better price and tip off the table, or wait, read the market, and take a worse price.
  7. When time's up, the final line is the Closing Line. Then the game is played: Home wins with the hidden true chance.
  8. Beat the Close. If your price was better than the closing line, your bet had positive CLV (closing line value). That's how pros know they were right, even when a bet loses.
  9. Under 10 chips and you're busted. You can still watch.
  10. After 6 rounds, most chips wins. Ties go to total CLV. The Sharpest award goes to the best total CLV.

Tip: the ticket shows your edge and a Kelly-sized stake (the bet-sizing formula pros use). Half-Kelly is the safe play.
